PADI’s What’s Your #MyPADI Story Official Rules

No Purchase is Necessary to Enter or Win

Eligibility: PADI’s What’s Your #MyPADI Story Contest (“Contest”) is open to anyone who is 18 years of age or older (“Entrant”). Employees, officers, directors and family members of employees of PADI Worldwide Corp. and all related and affiliated companies (collectively referred to as “PADI”), globally, are not eligible for the Contest. Contest is void in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) of Australia and anywhere restricted or otherwise prohibited by law.

General Rules and Conditions: By entering the Contest, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules. Entrants warrant that the photo(s) or video(s) they upload to the Contest are their own photo(s) or video(s). Entrant gives PADI and/or its designee the legal unlimited rights to use any photo submitted for the What’s Your #MyPADI Story? (“Contest Submission”). Entrant warrants that all information provided is accurate and that Entrant personally took the photo(s) or video(s) submitted for this Contest and has the legal right to use any photo submitted by Entrant for this Contest. PADI’s use of Entrant’s photo will not violate any third party rights. All Entrants agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless PADI and its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, agents and their employees, officers, directors, and representatives from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of their participation in this What’s Your #MyPADI Story?, any Contest-related activities, and the acceptance and use, or misuse of any prize awarded hereunder. By entering your Contest Submission in the What’s Your #MyPADI Story?  Contest you hereby grant PADI the non-exclusive royalty-free irrevocable rights, in its sole discretion, to use, reproduce, copy, publish, display, distribute, perform, translate, sublicense, adapt, modify, create derivative works from and otherwise exploit the Contest Submission (in whole or in part) and to incorporate the Contest Submission in other works, in any and all markets and media, whether now known or hereafter developed, throughout the universe in perpetuity; these rights are granted to PADI whether or not your submission is a winning submission. Winner (“Winner”) will be required to sign and complete a Publicity Release & Affidavit of Eligibility and return it to PADI within 5 days of notification, otherwise the prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate Entrant. Winner gives PADI unlimited rights to use Winner’s name, picture, Contest Submission and likeness, globally, in advertising and publicity for this What’s Your #MyPADI Story? Contest, and for any other PADI use, without further compensation, where permitted by local law. Such use may include but is not limited to PADI YouTube Channel and related scuba YouTube Channels, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, www.padi.com and press releases. No substitution of prize is permitted. PADI’s decision and selection of the Winners shall be final.

How to Enter: Entrants can enter the Contest three different ways: direct upload on the Facebook contest tab application, Instagram with the hashtag #MyPADI and Twitter with the hashtag #MyPADI. (1) Entrants can upload their photo or video directly within the What’s Your #MyPADI Story? Facebook contest tab’s photo/video uploader on PADI’s Facebook page tab at [WOOBOX URL] by completing the Entry Form. (2) Entrants can upload their photo or video directly to Instagram with the hashtag #MyPADI included in the Instagram or Entrants can comment with the hashtag #MyPADI on a previously uploaded photo of theirs. (3) Entrants can upload a Twitter photo, video or text that includes the hashtag #MyPADI in the tweet. Multiple entries will be accepted per Entrant. Entries open September 15 9:00am PST and all entries must be received by October 16 2015, 11:59pm PST.

Due to the way Instagram operates its services, entries from Instagram users with “protected” updates (i.e., Entrant has set his/her account so that only people the Entrant has approved can view his or her updates) may not be received by PADI. Contest Submission Judging Criteria: At the conclusion of the Entry Period the judges (4 PADI staff) will review all eligible entries received and select the Winners based on inspiration and/or detail of story. Contest Submissions should be a photo that promotes Entrant’s personal experiences with the scuba diver lifestyle including topside and/or underwater highlights of scuba diving including, but not limited to, dive training, dive certification, dive buddies, shore, pool or boat dives, specialty courses, marine life, unusual dive sites, dive shops and divers exploring the underwater world. Photos that include divers touching marine life or the reef, including artificial reefs such as wrecks, will be disqualified. Entrants must have signed releases from people that are in Entrants’ photos, allowing Entrants to submit their image for the purpose of this Contest. Winners must provide the release(s) to PADI.

Contest Submissions must be in good taste and shall not contain violence, profanity, unlawful references or other potentially offensive language or visuals. PADI reserves the right not to post any Contest Submissions received, for any reason, and to remove Contest Submissions already posted, and disqualify such Contest Submissions in PADI’s sole discretion.

Contest Prize and Approximate Retail Value (ARV): There will be a total of three Contest winners. The grand prize winner will receive a GoPro Hero4 Action Camera (($670 USD) and assorted PADI Gear ($50 USD). The second prize winner will receive a PADI eLearning Course ($165 USD, excludes Divemaster and Instructor Development courses) and assorted PADI Gear ($50 USD). The third prize winner will receive assorted PADI Gear ($50 USD). All federal, state/provincial/territorial, and local taxes, fees and surcharges and taxes (whether foreign or domestic, and including income, sales, and import taxes) on prizes are the sole responsibility of the Winner.

Winner Selection: Three winners will be chosen within 10 days after the Contest end date of October 19 2015. Winners will be notified within 10 days of selection via the social media channel that they entered the Contest though (via Twitter, a Tweet will be sent to the Winner; via Instagram, a comment will be made on the winning photo; via Facebook, through the Contest Tab uploader the Winner will be contacted through the email address they provide). PADI is not responsible for lost or misdirected mail or email. Winners’ names and/or photo will be displayed on the PADI Facebook page. PADI’s decision and selection of the Winner shall be final.

PADI or its affiliates may rescind any promotion found to contain errors, without liability, at PADI’s sole discretion.

This Contest shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California exclusive of its choice of laws principles. The California State courts of Orange County or the United States District Court for the Southern District of California shall have exclusive jurisdiction and venue over any dispute arising out of or relating to this Contest.

Chances of winning are dependent upon the number of entries received, and the opinion of judges regarding the judging criteria.
