Do you know someone who is curious about the underwater world, loves to explore and would make a great dive buddy? Here are four things you can do to help motivate the non-divers in your life to get PADI Open Water certified—and help you gain a dive buddy in the process:

  1. Host a scuba diving-themed movie night.
We’ve compiled a list of more than 30 films featuring scuba diving for you to choose from.
  2. Encourage friends and family to try a Discover Scuba Diving® experience.
Discover Scuba is a great way to find what scuba diving is really like before signing on for an Open Water certification course. Ask your local PADI Dive Center or Resort about their next scheduled “DSD” session and if they offer gift certificates.
  3. Give the gift of eLearning®
An eLearning Gift Pass allows friends and family to complete the classroom portion of the PADI Open Water Diver course at their own pace, anytime, anywhere.
  4. Share PADI’s Go Dive® video. Talking about diving is one thing. Seeing it is another. Show your friends what the PADI dive lifestyle is all about.
